How to prepare the perfect Spritz?

Feel like Spritz? There is no better place in the world to drink it … in Padua!

It is undeniable that, for history and acquired law, our city is the capital of the spritz, the Venetian aperitif now known all over the world!

It is undoubtedly the official drink of the students of the University and beyond!

Do you want to prepare a spritz to welcome friends? Do you simply want to know how to make a spritz to drink it yourself? The procedure is the same.
To make a traditional spritz and therefore an aperitif as we understand it in Veneto, the recipe is simple:

1/3 of white wine;
1/3 of sparkling water;
1/3 bitters (Aperol, Campari, Cynar, Luxardo, Select, etc etc)
toothpick with olive

Lately, however, it has spread to Italy and, in the world, the idea of the spritz as a cocktail is so true that outside the Veneto the barmen charge it as a cocktail. Moreover, the spritz is precisely included in the list of the Iba (International Bartenders Association) as mentioned above.

The recipe of the Spritz cocktail is instead the following:

3 parts of prosecco;
2 parts of Aperol;
a soda / soda spray
ice, orange slice, olive

So, if you want to make figs, follow this procedure: first of all pour the ice into a large wine glass or rock glass, then the prosecco, sprinkle seltz or soda and then the Aperol or Campari, having the foresight to pour it by making the bottle make a circular movement. Use a bar spoon type spoon to mix everything and decorate with half an orange slice and / or an olive.

Don’t drink and drive!
